There are several ways to design this vest to customize the look. You can arrange the "fan" vertically or horizontally, and you can position the seminole strip where you please. (Note: the pattern does not talk about embellishing the back of the vest, but there is enough fabric to do it, so... why not??) Using a sew-and-flip method on a muslin foundation, lay out all the strips on your pattern pieces before you start sewing. The seminole strip is constructed separately and sewn on as a whole.
